    General timings. Exact windows depend on the airport and whether your flight is domestic or international.

    Delta check-in on delta.com and the Fly Delta app generally opens 24 hours before departure and closes a set time before the flight. It's the easiest way and usually gives the best remaining seats.

    Airport counters and bag drop:

    If you're checking a bag or need documents verified, use the counter or bag drop. International flights need more time — arrive earlier than for a domestic hop.

    Boarding zones are firm:

    Delta boards by numbered zones and closes boarding several minutes before departure — the gate can close earlier than you'd expect. Being there early matters.

    Documents for international travel:

    Passports, visas and entry requirements for your destination are your responsibility and are checked before boarding. Verify them well ahead.

    Boarding order:

    Delta One, First, Comfort and Medallion members board earlier; Delta Main Basic boards in the last zone.
