How Air Canada connections generally work

On a connection through Toronto (YYZ), Montreal (YUL), Vancouver (YVR) or Calgary (YYC) heading to the US, you go through US customs and immigration in Canada. You then land in the US as a domestic arrival and skip the customs line there, a real advantage no US carrier can offer on the way in.

Times vary by route and terminal, so use them as a floor, not a promise.
