How traveling with a pet on Volaris generally works

Dogs and cats travel in a carrier of up to 44 x 30 x 19 cm (17.5 x 12 x 7.5 in), and the 26 lb cap is pet plus carrier combined, not the pet alone. Weigh them together at home, that's the number the counter sees.
Not the 8 weeks common elsewhere. A 10-week-old puppy that another airline would carry is refused on Volaris, plan adoption and travel dates with that gap in mind.
A dog in the cabin seats you at a window, any window except premium and exit rows. A cat seats you at the last-row window specifically. The seat and the pet have to be booked in agreement with each other.
16 pets per flight, split 10 dogs and 6 cats, and on Bogotá flights the cap drops to 6, split 3 and 3. When the cap is reached, no amount of arguing at the counter creates a seventeenth spot, secure the pet's place before or with the ticket.
Brachycephalic (snub-nosed) breeds are excluded, and a long dangerous-breeds list is barred from both cabin and cargo, including Pit Bull, Staffordshire and American Staffordshire Terrier, Shar Pei, Bull Terrier, American Bulldog, Bullmastiff, Akita, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, Anatolian Shepherd, Doberman, Rottweiler, Japanese Tosa, Dogue de Bordeaux, Neapolitan Mastiff, Presa Canario, Italian Mastiff, and the two that surprise everyone, the German Shepherd and the Boxer. The ban is total, not cargo-only.
Pets that don't fit the cabin can travel with a combined cap of 45 kg (100 lb) including the carrier, under the same breed restrictions. This is a paid service either way, and we quote the current figure before anything is charged.
Service dogs fly free in any seat except exit rows, with proof of training required except on US flights, and Volaris states no weight cap for them, don't let anyone invent one. Emotional support animals, dogs and cats, also fly free but only on non-US routes, within Mexico and to, from and within Central and South America, explicitly not on US flights, and with a cap of 2 ESA cats per flight.
