How Azul check-in generally works
Online is easiest; the documents are what get people turned away, so get those right first.
Check in on voeazul.com.br or the Azul app, usually from well before departure, and get your boarding pass on your phone. It saves the airport queue, especially if you're only carrying cabin baggage.
For flights within Brazil, carry a valid, current photo ID, an RG, a passport, or a driver licence. Old, laminated or damaged documents get rejected at the gate, so check yours before you leave home.
A minor travelling needs the documents set out on Azul's minor-documentation guidance, and for anyone flying alone the unaccompanied-minor rules apply. See our minors guide, Brazil is strict here.
For international departures, Mercosur citizens may use an original national ID or a passport, while others need a passport and any required visa. Check passport validity well ahead, some countries require months of remaining validity.
Travel to Europe now involves the ETIAS travel authorization and the EES entry-exit system, which are rolling out. If your Azul trip touches Europe, confirm whether you need to register before you fly, we'll flag it.
The gate closes before departure, and international flights need extra time for documents and immigration. Arrive with margin, a late arrival at the gate is one of the few things nobody can fix for you.
Check-in windows, accepted documents and boarding deadlines are set by Azul and by the countries you fly between, and entry rules change. We'll confirm what applies to your itinerary; you can also check in yourself at voeazul.com.br.
What to carry, by trip
Documents turn more people away than anything else. Get these right first.
Heading to Europe on Azul? The ETIAS travel authorization and EES entry-exit system are phasing in, and they can catch travellers out. If your trip touches Europe, ask us to confirm whether you need to register before departure, it's easy to miss and not something you can fix at the gate.
