How Azul baggage generally works
General guidance. Your exact allowance depends on your fare, route and TudoAzul status.
A 10 kg carry-on (up to about 115 cm total) plus a personal item are included on all Azul fares, including the base fare. That's more generous than most low-cost carriers, and it isn't tied to your fare tier.
A standard checked bag is up to 23 kg. Domestically the base Azul fare includes none while Mais Azul includes one. Internationally the ladder is Economy Azul (none free), Economy Mais Azul (first free), Economy Azul Super (first two free) and Business (first three free).
A single checked bag can weigh up to 45 kg on domestic and US or South America routes, but only 32 kg on Europe routes. Go over and it's charged as excess, or split it into two.
A qualifying TudoAzul tier (Topázio, Safira, Diamante, Diamante Unique) can unlock extra free checked bags. Give us your number so it isn't missed.
Adding a checked bag online ahead of time is almost always cheaper than paying at the counter. If you know you'll check a bag, let us add it when we book, not on the day.
Allowances and excess-bag charges depend on your fare, route and TudoAzul status, and Azul sets and changes them. We never publish the fee amounts, an agent confirms yours before anything is charged. You can review your allowance yourself at voeazul.com.br.
Checked bags by fare
Carry-on plus a personal item are free on all of these. The checked allowance is what changes.
Flying to Europe? Your single-bag weight ceiling drops to 32 kg there, versus 45 kg on domestic and US or South America routes. Pack to the right limit for your route, or a heavy bag gets repacked or charged at the counter.
