How Azul seats & upgrades generally work
What you can pick, and what it costs, depends on your fare and the route.
On the base Azul fare, choosing a standard seat is paid, but free seats open 24 hours before departure, subject to what's left. With Mais Azul you can pick your seat at any time for free. If a specific seat matters, that difference is worth knowing before you book.
On domestic flights, Espaço Azul seats give about 86 cm of pitch plus priority boarding and deplaning (exit rows aside) and priority cabin-bag stowage. It's a seat upgrade, separate from your fare bundle.
On international flights, Economy Xtra is the equivalent extra-legroom seat, around 86 cm of pitch with priority boarding, deplaning after Business passengers.
On eligible aircraft, Azul Comfort adds more space between rows, a footrest, priority boarding and upgraded meals, a middle tier between economy and Business.
On international routes Azul's Business cabin has seats that recline fully flat, a gourmet menu, lounge access at Campinas plus partner lounges abroad, individual entertainment and priority service, with free checked bags included.
Seat and cabin options, and their prices, depend on your fare, route and aircraft, and Azul sets them. We never publish the amounts, an agent quotes yours before anything is charged. You can view the seat map yourself at voeazul.com.br.
Azul seats and cabins, from the base up
Seat upgrades sit on top of your fare. Business is the international flagship.
Travelling as a family on the base fare? Free seat assignment only opens 24 hours before departure, and by then adjacent seats may be gone. If keeping a child next to you matters, pick seats when you book or choose Mais Azul, don't gamble on the 24-hour window.
