Instead of paying per flight, United sells an Economy Plus annual subscription, pay once and get the seating for a year of travel. Today, that subscription starts from $599 a year. United has published an effective date for a price increase: on August 1, 2026, the starting price rises to $799 a year. That's a confirmed, dated change straight from United, not an estimate, and not something we're guessing might happen. If you fly on United often enough that Economy Plus is a routine purchase rather than an occasional treat, the subscription can work out cheaper than paying per flight, and locking it in before the increase is worth a look.
