Wingo baggage, made simple

On Wingo, your bag allowance is decided entirely by your GO fare, which is the classic low-cost catch. GO Basic gives you a personal item only, no carry-on at all. A carry-on starts at GO Standard, and a checked bag at GO Plus. Tell us your fare and route and we'll spell out exactly what you can bring, before a surprise at the gate.

    How Wingo baggage generally works

General guidance. Your exact allowance is set by your GO fare, so the fare choice and the bag choice go together.

A personal item on every fare:

A personal item, about 40 x 35 x 25 cm, is included on every GO fare and goes under the seat in front of you. On GO Basic, it is the only thing you get free.

    Carry-on starts at GO Standard:

A 12 kg carry-on, about 55 x 45 x 25 cm, is included from GO Standard up. GO Basic has no carry-on at all, which catches people out, if you have more than a small bag, GO Basic is not enough.

Checked bag starts at GO Plus:

A 23 kg checked bag is included from GO Plus, and GO Extra includes it too. On Basic and Standard you add it separately, and adding it online before the airport is almost always cheaper than at the counter.

Buy the bag before the airport:

Because Wingo is ultra-low-cost, airport bag prices are steep. If you know you'll check a bag, either buy the fare that includes it (Plus or Extra) or add the bag when we book, not on the day.

    Battery and restricted-item rules:

Spare lithium batteries and power banks travel in the cabin only, within the published watt-hour limits and unit counts, and can't charge devices during critical phases of flight. Food, plants, perishables and valuables are barred from checked baggage; cremated remains may go in the cabin with a death certificate.

Allowances and excess-bag charges depend on your GO fare and route, and Wingo sets and changes them. We never publish the fee amounts, an agent confirms yours before anything is charged. You can review your allowance yourself at wingo.com.

    Baggage by GO fare

A personal item is on every fare. What climbs is the carry-on and the checked bag.

    GO Basic
    Personal item only (~40 x 35 x 25 cm); no carry-on
    GO Standard
    Personal item + 12 kg carry-on (~55 x 45 x 25 cm)
    GO Plus
Adds a 23 kg checked bag and a seat
    GO Extra
Everything, plus an extra-legroom seat and priority
    Batteries / power banks
Cabin only, within watt-hour and unit limits
    Banned from checked
    Food, plants, perishables and valuables

GO Basic has no carry-on, only a personal item. This is the single most common Wingo surprise at the gate: people assume a small cabin bag is included and it isn't on Basic. If you're travelling with a proper carry-on, buy GO Standard or higher, or add the bag when we book, so you're not paying a steep airport rate on the day.

    Frequently asked

Does Wingo include a carry-on on the cheapest fare?+
No. GO Basic includes a personal item only (about 40 x 35 x 25 cm) and no carry-on. A 12 kg carry-on starts at GO Standard, and a 23 kg checked bag at GO Plus. If you're carrying more than a small bag, price GO Standard or Plus rather than paying at the airport.
How many bags does each Wingo GO fare include?+
GO Basic: a personal item only. GO Standard: personal item plus a 12 kg carry-on. GO Plus: adds a 23 kg checked bag and a seat. GO Extra: all of that plus an extra-legroom seat and priority. We'll match the fare to what you're actually carrying.
Can I add a checked bag after booking?+
Yes, and it's cheaper before you reach the airport. Tell us and we'll add it at the online rate rather than the higher counter price. On an ultra-low-cost carrier that difference can be significant.
Can I bring a power bank on Wingo?+
Yes, in the cabin only, within the published watt-hour limits and unit counts, spare lithium batteries and power banks are never allowed in checked baggage, and you can't use them to charge devices during critical phases of flight. If you're carrying several, check the limits before you fly.
