Flying with a pet on Wingo

Wingo carries pets in the cabin only, never in the hold, and the rules have real gotchas: no pets at all to or from Aruba, Curaçao or Havana, a hard cap of six animals per flight that sells out, and a flexible carrier only, rigid ones are refused. Emotional-support animals are accepted, but only if you buy an extra-space seat. Tell us your route and animal and we'll tell you honestly whether it can fly before you book.

How Wingo's pet policy generally works

Cabin-only, capped per flight and route-sensitive, so plan and call before you book, not after.

    Cabin only, never the hold:

Wingo does not offer pet transport in the aircraft hold. Pets travel in the cabin only, so an animal that doesn't fit the cabin rules can't travel with Wingo at all. Plan around that from the start.

    Banned routes: Aruba, Curaçao, Havana:

Wingo does not carry pets to or from Aruba, Curaçao or Havana. If your trip touches any of those, the pet can't be on it, so the whole plan has to be built around that restriction.

A hard cap of six, book 48 hours ahead:

A maximum of six animals travel per flight, and spots sell out. You must book the pet at least 48 hours in advance through the call center, never book the ticket and add the pet later, because the spot may already be gone.

    Carrier, weight and age rules:

A regular pet plus its carrier must stay within about 10 kg combined, in a flexible, ventilated carrier around 25 x 33 x 43 cm, rigid carriers are refused. The minimum age is 8 weeks (6 months for a service animal or ESA).

Service dogs and ESAs are different:

A trained service or guide dog travels free, up to 35 kg, with no carrier required. An emotional-support animal is accepted, but only with a purchased extra-space seat, free for an ESA up to 10 kg (you still buy the seat) and paid for one from 10.5 to 25 kg. Health and vaccination documents apply.

    Arrive early with the paperwork:

Pet check-in is generally 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international one, with the required vaccination, health-certificate and export documents in hand. Getting the documents wrong can strand the animal, so confirm them in advance.

Pet rules, carrier sizes, per-flight caps, banned routes and fees are set by Wingo and the destination country, and they change. We never publish the fee amounts; an agent confirms yours before anything is charged. Always confirm the current rules directly, this is one where being wrong strands an animal.

Never book first and add the pet later on Wingo. Only six animals fly per flight and spots sell out, the pet must be booked 48 hours ahead through the call center, and Aruba, Curaçao and Havana are off-limits entirely. Frequently asked

Can I take my pet to Aruba, Curaçao or Havana on Wingo?+
No. Wingo does not carry pets to or from Aruba, Curaçao or Havana. Pets travel in the cabin only elsewhere, but those three destinations are off-limits for animals entirely. If your trip touches any of them, call us before you book so we can plan around it.
Does Wingo put pets in the cargo hold?+
No. Wingo is cabin-only for pets, there is no hold option. A regular pet plus carrier must be about 10 kg combined, in a flexible ventilated carrier (around 25 x 33 x 43 cm), rigid carriers are refused. If your animal doesn't fit those limits, it can't travel with Wingo.
    Does Wingo accept emotional-support animals?+
Yes, but with a condition: an ESA is accepted only if you buy an extra-space seat for it. An ESA up to 10 kg travels free but still needs the purchased seat; one from 10.5 to 25 kg is paid plus the seat. A trained service dog is different, it travels free, up to 35 kg, with no carrier. Health documents apply to all.
How far ahead do I book a pet on Wingo?+
At least 48 hours in advance, through the call center, and only six animals travel per flight, so spots sell out. Never book the ticket first and add the pet later; call us before you book so we can confirm a cabin spot exists on your exact flight and route.
