BargainAirTicket is an independent travel agency, we are not Wingo and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Wingo. You can manage your booking yourself at wingo.com at no cost. If you'd rather we handle it, our agents assist for a service fee, quoted before you're charged.

Are you owed a refund from Wingo?

On Wingo the honest starting point is that fares are non-refundable, and there's no 24-hour regret rule, so a cash refund for cancelling by choice is unusual. Where money does come back, it's often a voucher, and an airline-caused disruption changes the picture entirely. Tell us what happened and we'll show you the likely outcome, then start the request alongside you.

    How Wingo refunds generally work

Whether anything comes back turns on who caused the change, since your own cancellation rarely earns a cash refund.

Fares are non-refundable, and there's no 24-hour window:

Wingo's tickets are promotional and non-refundable, and it does not apply Colombia's withdrawal right. So cancelling by choice generally returns nothing, there is no free 24-hour cancellation to fall back on. This is the single most important thing to know before you book.

    Airline-caused disruption is different:

If Wingo cancels or significantly disrupts your flight, you're entitled to a free rebooking within 10 days or a voucher refund, under Colombia's passenger-rights rules. That's a real entitlement, and it's separate from a voluntary cancellation.

    The voucher, and its clock:

A voucher refund is generally issued within 3 to 5 business days and is valid for one year. It's credit toward future Wingo travel, not cash to your card, so plan to use it within the year or it's lost.

    Death or serious illness:

Wingo does recognise a bereavement and medical exception: a family member can request a voucher refund by submitting a death certificate, or the passenger via a medical-incapacity certificate. It's a voucher, not a discounted fare, and it's worth asking about in those situations.

    The airport charges:

Even on a non-refundable fare, taxes and airport charges built into a ticket you don't use may be recoverable. It's usually small, but it's yours, so ask us to include it in any request.

Refund eligibility, method and timing depend on the reason and how the ticket was issued, and Wingo sets them. We never publish amounts, an agent confirms the exact figure and our service fee before anything is charged. You can also request a refund yourself free at wingo.com.

    What comes back, by situation

On Wingo, who caused the change matters far more than your fare.

You cancel a fare by choice
Generally nothing; fares are non-refundable, no 24h regret
    Wingo cancels or big disruption
Free rebooking within 10 days or a voucher
    The voucher
Issued in 3 to 5 business days, valid one year, not cash
    Death or medical incapacity
A voucher with a death or medical certificate
    Unused airport taxes
Often recoverable even on a non-refundable fare

A Wingo voucher is a clock, not cash. When Wingo owes you, it's usually a voucher valid for one year, not money back to your card. If you won't fly Wingo again inside that year, that changes what the voucher is worth to you, so weigh a rebooking against it. Call us and we'll work out which leaves you better off.

    Frequently asked

Can I get a cash refund from Wingo if I cancel?+
Rarely. Wingo's fares are non-refundable and there's no 24-hour regret rule, so cancelling by choice generally returns nothing to your card. The main exceptions are an airline-caused disruption (a voucher or rebooking) and the death or medical exception (a voucher with documentation). Tell us your situation and we'll say what applies.
Wingo cancelled my flight, what am I owed?+
When Wingo cancels or significantly disrupts your flight, Colombia's rules give you a free rebooking within 10 days or a voucher refund, generally issued in 3 to 5 business days and valid for a year. Decline the rebooking if you want the voucher, and we'll handle the request.
    Is a Wingo voucher cash?+
No. A Wingo voucher is credit toward future travel, issued in about 3 to 5 business days and valid for one year, not money back to your card. Plan to use it inside the year, because it expires. We'll tell you the exact terms of yours.
My relative died, can I get a refund on a Wingo ticket?+
Wingo recognises a bereavement exception: a family member can request a voucher refund by submitting a death certificate, and a passenger who is medically unable to fly can do the same with a medical-incapacity certificate. It's a voucher rather than cash or a discounted fare. This is hard to arrange while grieving, so tell us and we'll handle it for you.
