Change, cancel or fix your Aeroméxico flight

On Aeroméxico, how easily a ticket moves comes down to your fare: Light and Basic bend the least, Classic and Flex are built to move. And there's one rule worth knowing before anything else: on flights to or from the US booked at least seven days out, every fare, even Light, gets 24 hours to cancel or change without penalty. Answer two quick questions and we'll show what's likely, then a live agent can do it for you at any hour.

How Aeroméxico changes & cancellations generally work

The rules in plain language. Your exact fare and route decide, we confirm both on the call.

    Your fare sets the rules:

Flex is Aeroméxico's most flexible main-cabin fare, Classic sits below it, and Light and Basic are the tightest. The Premier cabins carry their own Basic, Classic and Flex versions. Knowing which you bought is the first step, it's printed on your confirmation.

The 24-hour rule covers every fare on US flights:

Aeroméxico publishes this on both its 24 Hour Fare Guarantee page and its Customer Service Plan: on flights to or from the United States booked at least seven days before departure, you have 24 hours to cancel or change without penalty, across all fares. If you booked yesterday, this is your window, act on it today.

Light and Basic are the strict ones:

The lowest fares give you the least room once that first day has passed. Before you write a ticket off, let us read your exact conditions, sometimes there's more give than the fare name suggests.

    Changing to a different flight:

When your fare allows a change, you'll pay any difference in fare if the new flight costs more, plus whatever change conditions your fare carries. We quote everything, including our service fee, before anything is charged.

If Aeroméxico cancels or reschedules you:

When the disruption is the airline's own, a cancellation or a significant schedule change, you're generally entitled to a rebooking or a refund, even on a restricted fare. See our refund guide for how the money comes back.

    Mixed Aeroméxico and Delta itineraries:

Many US itineraries include a Delta-operated flight under the joint venture. A change can touch both airlines' segments, which is exactly the kind of thing an agent untangles faster than a website.

Change and cancellation conditions depend on your fare, route and how the ticket was issued. We never publish amounts because yours is specific to your ticket, an agent quotes the exact figure, and our service fee, before anything is charged. You can always do it yourself free at aeromexico.com.

Aeroméxico fares and how easily they flex

Where your ticket sits on the ladder decides how much it can move. Higher = more flexible.

    Light (domestic)
The tightest fare; no carry-on included either, only a personal item
    Basic
Low and restricted; seat selection also costs extra
    Classic
The middle of the ladder, with a carry-on and a checked bag included
    Flex
    Aeroméxico's most flexible main-cabin fare
    Premier / Premier One
Premium cabins with their own Basic, Classic and Flex versions
    US flights, any fare
24 hours to cancel or change penalty-free when booked 7+ days out

Who caused the change matters most

The same ticket behaves very differently depending on whose decision it was.

    You change by choice

    Fare rules apply

    • Light and Basic leave the least room
    • Classic and Flex are built to move
    • A fare difference applies if the new flight costs more
    • The US 24-hour window is the big exception, every fare

    Aeroméxico cancels or reschedules

    Better for you

    • A rebooking or refund is generally available
    • Applies even on restricted fares
    • Significant schedule changes usually qualify
    • Delta segments under the joint venture get worked too

Flying to or from the US and booked within the last day? Move now. Aeroméxico's published rule gives every fare 24 hours to cancel or change without penalty when the ticket was bought at least seven days before departure. Call us before the day is up and we'll act on it.

    Frequently asked

Can I change a Light or Basic ticket on Aeroméxico?+
Once the first 24 hours have passed, Light and Basic are the most restricted fares and your room to move narrows. Within 24 hours of booking a US flight bought at least seven days out, you can cancel or change without penalty on any fare. Give us your reservation code and we'll confirm what yours actually permits.
I booked a US flight yesterday, can I still cancel free?+
Very likely yes. Aeroméxico's published rule gives you 24 hours to cancel or change without penalty when the flight touches the US and was booked at least seven days before departure, on every fare. The clock is unforgiving, so call us right away.
What if Aeroméxico changed my schedule?+
An airline-caused cancellation or significant schedule change generally opens the door to a rebooking or a refund, even on a restricted fare. Have your reservation code and the notice ready and we'll work the options.
Do you charge to change it for me?+
Yes, we're an independent agency and charge a service fee to handle your booking, quoted before anything is charged. Any Aeroméxico fare difference is separate and set by the airline. You can always manage it yourself at aeromexico.com at no cost.
