How Aeroméxico changes & cancellations generally work
The rules in plain language. Your exact fare always governs — we confirm it on the call.
Flexible and Premier Flex fares allow changes with the fewest restrictions. Classic sits in the middle. Basic is the most limited — its changes are restricted and it's non-refundable.
The lowest fare can rarely be changed and gives little to nothing back if you cancel by choice. Don't assume it's a dead end, though — call and we'll read your exact ticket conditions.
Even on flexible fares, if your new flight costs more than the original, you pay the difference. When it's cheaper, the leftover value is handled by the fare rules, not always returned as cash.
Tickets bought in the United States generally qualify for the US 24-hour rule — cancel within a day of booking for a refund. Availability depends on where and how you bought.
When the airline cancels or significantly reschedules, you're generally owed a rebooking or a refund — that can hold even on an otherwise non-refundable fare.
Rules vary by fare, route and how the ticket was issued. We never publish change or cancellation amounts because yours depends on your ticket — an agent tells you the exact figure before anything is charged, and you can always do it yourself free at aeromexico.com.
