About Hawaiian Airlines

Flying since 1929, Hawaiian Airlines is Hawaii's largest and longest-serving carrier. It runs the frequent inter-island shuttle between Honolulu, Maui, Kona and Kauai on short single-cabin hops, and long transpacific flights from the islands east to the US mainland and west and south to Asia and the South Pacific. Its loyalty program is Atmos Rewards, and since its merger with Alaska Airlines the two carriers share one booking and content platform. Main Cabin Basic

The lowest, most restricted fare. Expect limited seat selection and tight change rules, so it is best only when price is all that matters. Confirm exactly what it includes before you book.

Main Cabin

The standard economy experience, with a normal seat selection window and the usual carry-on plus a personal item. Checked-bag allowance depends on your route and status.

Premium Class

Hawaiian's extra-legroom cabin, adding more room and priority service on the transpacific fleet. A meaningful step up for a long over-water flight.

First Class

The most room and service on transpacific routes, with the widest change and refund flexibility. On the newest aircraft this is served in lie-flat suites.

Baggage, the essentials

General guidance. Your exact allowance depends on your fare, route and Atmos Rewards status, and inter-island rules differ from transpacific ones.

Carry-on:

Most fares include a carry-on plus a personal item. Confirm the carry-on rules for the lowest fares on your specific route before you fly.

Checked bags:

Checked bags generally carry a fee, and the amount and free allowance depend on your fare, route and status. Intra-Hawaii rates differ from mainland and international ones.

Overweight, oversize and special items:

Cheaper arranged in advance than at the airport. Surfboards, golf clubs and other special items usually need advance arrangement, which matters a lot for island travel.

Check-in & boarding

How to be ready on the day.

Hawaiian online check-in on hawaiianairlines.com and the Hawaiian Airlines app generally opens 24 hours before departure and closes shortly before the flight. Inter-island hops move fast, so give yourself margin, and on transpacific and international flights allow extra time for documents and security.

Boarding is done in groups, and premium cabins and elite status board earlier. If you connect through Honolulu between an island hop and a long-haul flight, know your gates and give yourself a comfortable connection.

Atmos Rewards loyalty program

Atmos Rewards is Hawaiian's own loyalty program, where you earn and redeem on Hawaiian flights, and elite status adds priority check-in and boarding, extra baggage and other perks on eligible fares. Since the merger with Alaska Airlines the programs are being brought together, so confirm current earning and redemption on the call. How do I change or cancel my Hawaiian flight?+

It depends on your fare. Premium Class and First Class are the most flexible, while Main Cabin Basic and Saver style fares are the most restricted and can lose value if cancelled. The US 24-hour rule gives a full refund within a day of booking when your travel is more than 24 hours away. Have your confirmation code ready and call us, or manage it at hawaiianairlines.com.

What happens if Hawaiian cancels or delays my flight?+

You are generally entitled to rebooking on the next available flight or a refund, and Hawaiian's own care commitments can add a meal or hotel on a controllable overnight. Because island connections are tight, call us right away and we will re-route you.

What is Atmos Rewards and is it changing?+

Atmos Rewards is Hawaiian's frequent-flyer program. Since the Alaska merger the loyalty programs are being brought together, so earning and redemption details can change. Give us your number when booking and we will add it to your reservation.

How do I travel with a pet or as an unaccompanied minor on Hawaiian?+
