How JetBlue changes & cancellations generally work
The rules in plain language. Your exact fare always governs — we'll confirm it on the call.
For Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Extra and Mint, JetBlue has dropped change and cancellation fees. If you switch flights you'd still pay any difference in fare when the new flight costs more.
The lowest fare is the restricted one — changes and cancellations are limited and can carry a fee or lose value. Don't assume you're stuck; call and we'll check exactly what your ticket allows.
Cancel any fare within 24 hours of booking for a full refund to your original payment, as long as you booked at least a couple of days before departure — this covers Blue Basic too.
Outside 24 hours, cancelling a nonrefundable fare usually converts its value to a JetBlue travel credit rather than cash. Travel credit carries expiry dates and conditions.
You're generally entitled to a rebooking or a refund to your original payment method — even on a nonrefundable fare.
Policies vary by fare, route and how your ticket was issued. We never publish change or cancellation amounts because yours depends on your ticket — an agent tells you the exact figure before anything is charged.
JetBlue fares and how flexible they are
Where your ticket sits decides how easily it changes. Higher = more flexible.
