BargainAirTicket is an independent travel agency, we are not Frontier Airlines and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Frontier Airlines. You can change or cancel it yourself at flyfrontier.com at no cost. If you'd rather we handle it, our agents assist for a service fee, quoted before you're charged.

Change, cancel or fix your Frontier flight

Frontier splits it two ways: how fast you act, and which fare you bought. Cancel within 24 hours of booking and it's a full refund, unless your trip is within 7 days of purchase, which Frontier excludes outright. After that, Economy, Premium and Business bundles waive the change and cancel fee completely, while Basic Fare/Standard pays one that grows the closer you get to departure. Miss check-in or boarding, though, and none of that matters, a No-Show Cancellation takes your whole itinerary with it, return included. Answer two quick questions and a live agent can act on it at any hour.

First question: are you still inside the 24-hour window, and is your trip more than 7 days out?

    Yes to both

Cancel now for a full refund to your original payment, any fare, no fee. The window closes at midnight the day after you booked.

Past 24 hours, or booked within 7 days of travel

Your fare type sets the rules. Bundles waive the fee outright; Basic Fare/Standard pays one that gets bigger the closer you are to departure.

Cancel free within 24 hours of purchase, full refund to your original payment Economy, Premium & Business bundles (plus Bizfare/Economy Fare) waive the change AND cancel fee entirely Even a fee-bearing cancellation still returns as a travel credit, not lost money Booked for travel within 7 days (168 hrs) of purchase? The 24-hour refund does NOT apply Basic Fare/Standard: fee grows the closer you get to departure Frontier tickets are generally non-refundable, cancelling returns a credit, not cash Miss check-in (60 min) or boarding (20 min) = No-Show Cancellation, cancels every remaining flight, including your return Frontier does not carry unaccompanied minors, under 15 must fly with an adult on the same reservation

Miss check-in by one minute and Frontier can cancel your entire itinerary, return flight included.

It's called a No-Show Cancellation, and it isn't limited to the flight you missed. Skip the 60-minute check-in cutoff or the 20-minute boarding cutoff and every remaining segment on your itinerary, your way home included, cancels with it. If you think you'll be late, call ahead; a Frontier or BargainAirTicket agent can sometimes rework the booking before the cutoff hits and save the rest of the trip.
What to do, minute by minute
Within 24 hours of booking, trip 7+ days out

Cancel for a full refund to your original form of payment. Frontier's cleanest exit, and it works on any fare. The deadline is midnight the day after you bought the ticket.

Past 24 hours, or booked within 7 days of travel

Cancelling returns the itinerary's value as a travel credit minus the cancel fee (waived entirely on a bundle), not cash, and if your new flight costs less, there's no residual value. Changing costs any fare difference, plus the change fee on Basic Fare/Standard, which grows the closer you get to departure.

Check-in (60 min) and boarding (20 min) cutoffs

Miss either one and Frontier cancels your ticket as a no-show, taking every remaining flight on the itinerary with it, including the return. If you might be late, call ahead rather than risk the whole trip.

How Frontier changes & cancellations work

The rules in plain language. Your exact fare always decides, we'll confirm it on the call.

    24-hour rule, with a gotcha:

Cancel within 24 hours of buying your ticket for a full refund to your original form of payment. The catch: Frontier excludes tickets bought for travel within 7 days (168 hours) of purchase, book close to departure and this window simply doesn't apply to you.

    Generally non-refundable:

Outside that 24-hour window, Frontier tickets are non-refundable by policy. Cancelling gives you the itinerary's value, minus the cancel fee and any carrier charges, back as a travel credit, not cash. If your replacement flight costs less than the credit, the difference isn't returned.

Fees grow the closer you get to departure:

On Basic Fare/Standard, both the change fee and the cancel fee increase the nearer you are to your flight, on top of any fare difference. Economy, Premium and Business bundles, and Bizfare and Economy Fare, waive both fees entirely, whenever you change your mind. We never publish the exact figures because the tier depends on your ticket; an agent reads yours and quotes it, and our service fee, before anything is charged.

    No distinct same-day product:

Frontier doesn't sell same-day changes as their own category, change 6 days or less before departure and you're simply in that fee tier, same as any other late change.

    The No-Show Cancellation trap:

Miss check-in (60 minutes before departure) or miss boarding (20 minutes before) and Frontier cancels the ticket as a no-show, taking every remaining flight on the itinerary with it, including your return home.

    Name changes: not published:

Frontier's change-policy page doesn't spell out a name-correction process, so we won't guess one for you. If a name needs fixing, call, we'll find out what Frontier will and won't do with your specific booking.

Traveling with a child? Frontier won't carry them alone:

Frontier does not offer unaccompanied-minor service. A child under 15 has to be on the same reservation as an accompanying adult, 15 is the minimum age to fly solo on Frontier. If your trip involves a minor and you're not sure how to book it, tell us before you buy.

Fees and fare differences depend on your ticket and route; we never publish a flat amount because yours is specific, an agent quotes the exact figure, and our service fee, before anything is charged. You can always do it yourself free at flyfrontier.com.

Frontier fare types and how they flex

Frontier's own labels. Which one you bought decides how a change or cancellation goes.

    Basic Fare/Standard
Change & cancel fees apply and grow closer to departure; generally non-refundable, cancelling returns a travel credit, not cash
    Economy, Premium & Business bundles
Change & cancel fees waived entirely; you'd still pay any fare difference on a change
    Bizfare & Economy Fare
Also waived entirely, per Frontier's own fee table
    Any Frontier ticket
24-hour full refund to original payment, unless booked for travel within 7 days of purchase

Credit or refund? What you'll likely get

It comes down to when you act and which fare you hold.

    You cancel by choice

    Most common

    • Basic Fare/Standard returns a travel credit minus the cancel fee
    • Bundles cancel fee-free, but it's still a credit, since Frontier fares are generally non-refundable
    • Inside 24 hours (and 7+ days from travel) it's a full refund instead
    • Credits carry their own conditions, we'll confirm what applies to yours

    Frontier disrupts your flight

    Different page, different rules

    • A delay or cancellation Frontier causes runs on separate rules from a voluntary change
    • Frontier's own 3-hour policy and the federal DOT rule can both apply, and they're not the same thing
    • Full detail lives on our delays & rebooking page
    • We'll tell you which rule fits your situation before you call

The 24-hour clock is the cheapest exit you'll get. Once it closes, or if you booked within 7 days of travel and it never applied, every path back costs something: a fee on Basic Fare/Standard, or at minimum a travel credit instead of cash. If you just booked and you're having second thoughts, call before midnight the day after purchase and we'll act on it right away.

    Frequently asked

Can I cancel a Frontier flight within 24 hours for free?+
Usually yes. Frontier lets you cancel within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund to your original form of payment. The exception: if you booked for travel within 7 days (168 hours) of purchase, that window doesn't apply to you at all, check your booking date against your departure date before you assume you're covered.
Does Frontier charge a change or cancellation fee?+
It depends entirely on your fare. Basic Fare/Standard carries a change fee and a cancel fee that both grow the closer you get to departure, on top of any fare difference. The Economy, Premium and Business bundles, and Bizfare and Economy Fare, waive both fees completely. We never quote a flat number because yours depends on your exact ticket; give us your confirmation code and we'll read it for you.
What happens if I miss check-in or boarding?+
Frontier cancels your ticket as a No-Show Cancellation, and it doesn't stop at the flight you missed. Every remaining segment on your itinerary, including your return home, gets cancelled with it. Check-in closes 60 minutes before departure and boarding closes 20 minutes before; if you think you'll be late, call ahead rather than risk the whole trip.
Can my child fly alone on Frontier?+
No. Frontier doesn't offer an unaccompanied-minor service at all. A child under 15 has to be booked on the same reservation as an accompanying adult, 15 is the youngest age Frontier will let someone fly by themselves. If part of your group is a minor without a parent traveling, call us before you book so it's set up correctly from the start.
If I cancel, do I get cash back or a credit?+
Almost always a credit, not cash. Frontier tickets are generally non-refundable, so a voluntary cancellation returns the itinerary's value, minus the cancel fee if you're on Basic Fare/Standard, as a travel credit you use later. The one exception is the 24-hour window: cancel inside it, outside the 7-day-before-travel carve-out, and it's a full refund to your original payment instead.
Do you charge to change or cancel it for me?+
Yes, we're an independent agency and charge a service fee to handle it, quoted before anything is charged. Any Frontier fare difference or fee is separate and set by the airline. You can always do it yourself at flyfrontier.com at no cost.
